About Russian American Community Services Association of SF, Inc.
Russian American Community Services Association (RACS) is a community-based nonprofit organization dedicated to providing comprehensive nutrition and supportive services to seniors and adults with disabilities in San Francisco, CA. Operating since 1977, RACS delivers a full spectrum of programs designed to enhance quality of life and address the unique needs of Russian-speaking populations in the Bay Area. The organization operates three core service programs: Congregate Meals, offering nutritious, low-cost dining experiences for seniors aged 60 and older; Home Delivered Meals, bringing fresh, prepared food directly to homebound clients; and Home Delivered Groceries, providing weekly bags of essential groceries to 100 low-income households. All meals feature authentic Russian cuisine prepared onsite by academy-trained culinary staff, ensuring both nutritional excellence and cultural authenticity. Beyond nutrition, RACS provides extensive Social and Community Services including recreational activities, educational presentations, translation assistance, and one-on-one social services support. The organization also manages St. Olga's Home, a residential facility established in 1992. With partial funding from the City of San Francisco's Department of Disability and Aging Services, RACS has become a vital resource center where vulnerable seniors and adults with disabilities access not only meals but also meaningful social engagement, cultural connection, and comprehensive community support during challenging life circumstances.
